Connectivity provider OnAir annouced today at Aircraft Interiors
that it has added Middle East Arilines Jazeera Airways and Oman
Air to the customer list for their Mobile inflight passenger communication
services.
Scheduled to start operations next year, Oman Air will enable
their passengers to use mobile phones and smartphones on board
to make and receive voice calls as well as text messages and emails.
Furthermore they can surf the web, use web mail and instant messaging
by using either their laptops
or the IFE screens.
Up to 12 simultaneous voice calls will be supported on seven
new Airbus A330.
These aircrafts are scheduled for long route flights from Oman
to Asia and Europe.
Jazeera Airways service shall go live later this year on six
Airbus A320, number that will grow to 40.
