Royal Jordanian on 23 February launched its
OnAir service on a recently received Airbus 319 aircraft
flying to Europe, the Middle East, North
Africa, and India.
Passengers on Ryanair’s OnAir-enabled aircrafts,
can now make and receive GSM voice calls at
approximately £1.50-£3.00 per minute, text
messages for about £0.40+, and e-mails for
£1.00-£2.00 using their mobile phones,
personal data devices, and smartphones.
Prices are set by each passenger’s mobile service provider,
and charges will appear on the user’s regular
bill.
The service initially will be available to
customers of ‘O2’ (a mobile operator in the UK) and
to customers of more than 50 other mobile
phone operators across Europe through roaming agreements. OnAir
confirmed that it is working with other UK
mobile operators (Vodafone, Orange, and 3).
